Heritage Middle School students raised more than $400 for the opportunity to bedazzle the head of one of four educators: Principal Dr. Dru Tomlin, Assistant Principal Stuart Gartrell, Connections teacher Jason Tucker and physical education teacher Kerry Burton. 

Heritage Middle School student leaders spent Monday and Tuesday mornings creating blankets for My Very Own Blanket, a Westerville-based nonprofit dedicated to providing handmade blankets to children in foster care. 

Twenty-eight students from all five of Westerville City Schools’ middle schools participated in the 2024 Ohio Music Education District 15 Middle School Honor Band on Nov. 16 at Westerville Central High School.

National School Psychology Week, which runs from Nov. 11 to Nov. 15, celebrates the contributions of school psychologists and the role they play in schools and communities. It is also an annual opportunity to recognize school psychologists' work to help children thrive in school, at home and in life. 

The Big Bus, a mobile classroom that provides academic help to Westerville City Schools elementary students, will now be able to expand its reach thanks to the newest addition to its fleet.

Leaders behind The Big Bus recently launched The Big Bus II — a retired transit bus that has been converted into a mobile classroom — to support WCSD middle and high school students in need of classroom support and services.

Artwork created by eighth-graders across the District’s middle schools will be featured in a special art exhibition as part of the Westerville Public Library’s Wizards and Wands Festival.
